Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Seun Anikulapo Kuti has penned a heart-melting tribute to his elder brother, Femi Kuti as he clocks 60 today.
Both Seun and Femi are the sons of late Afrobeat legend and cultural icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. While the former is the youngest, Femi is the eldest. Following their father’s legacy, the duo are both singers.
Seun took to his Facebook page on Thursday morning to congratulate his brother who marks his diamond jubilee.
The 39-year-old singer noted that Femi’s leadership and dedication to his art have been of enormous benefit to the family and the world at large.
“60 hearty cheers to the King. Words escape me on this great day because the joy inside of me can’t be expressed in words alone. Your dedication to your craft and your leadership has been of immense value to your family and the world at large. We celebrate the one true king @femiakuti on this most joyous of days. Arararara!!!!,” he wrote.
Days before his 60th birthday, Femi Kuti was gifted a limited edition of Selmer Paris Alto Supreme 2022 saxophone.
The gift which reportedly costs over €8000 was procured by a committee of family and friends, led by his son, Made Kuti, and his sister, Yeni Kuti.
