By The 90th birthday party of former First Lady of Lagos State and mother of billionaire Femi Otedola, Lady Christine Adedoja Otedola, has no doubt been the talk of the town since last weekend.
Held in their home town in the Epe area of Lagos State, the event had in attendance the country’s cream of the crop — think of top politicians, business moguls, and other notable personalities. The rather controversial outfit of the celebrant’s granddaughter, popular disc jockey, Florence Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy also got tongues talking.
Interestingly, DJ Cuppy’s NURTW-like outfit wasn’t only the unusual thing about the party. A close observation of photos and videos from the event revealed that Femi Otedola’s wife, Nana was missing for yet-to-be-disclosed reasons.
Though BlackBox Nigeria cannot independently verify why she failed to turn up at her mother-in-law’s 90th birthday, word on the street say her absence may not be unconnected with the seeming cracks rocking her marriage to the billionaire businessman.
The couple have been married for over twenty years and have four kids together — first daughter, Tolani, a singer, who after she was born, Femi married Nana and had two more daughters DJ Cuppy, Temi, a style blogger and aspiring designer and a son, Fewa.
There have been silent rumours that Femi and Nana’s marriage might be hitting the rocks soon over alleged infidelity from both sides. Though these reports remain unconfirmed, Nana’s absence at Lady Doja’s much talked-about birthday raises eyebrows about their marriage and the possibility of a split. Time, of course, will tell.
