Singer Kizz Daniel freed by Tanzanian police

Nigerian singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe professionally known as Kizz Daniel has been released by the Tanzanian police.

It would be recalled that the ‘Buga’ crooner was arrested on Monday after failing to perform at a show in the East African country.

The singer, who was billed to headline the Summer Amplified Concert on Sunday night, reportedly refused to perform because of unavailability of his clothes, though he arrived Tanzania earlier. In reaction, fans had angrily thrashed the concert venue, as seen in videos which surfaced on social media.

The organizers of the show, Big Step Consultancy, in a statement, had also vowed to take every necessary action against Kizz Daniel.

However, it was learnt that the Federal Government has intervened in the matter and secured the release of the embattled singer.

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa confirmed the development in a tweet on Monday night.

“KD has been released. His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return back to Nigeria,” she wrote.
