‘Ebenezer Obey lied, his late son wasn’t a junkie’, new revelations claim

Fresh revelations have emerged concerning the actual cause of the death of Olayinka Olalekan Obey-Fabiyi, one of the sons of legendary Juju musician, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi.

It would be recalled that Olayinka passed away on Friday, July 31, at the age of 48. His remains were interred the following day.

Confirming the incident, the veteran musician, in a statement, had said all his efforts to rescue his deceased son from alcoholism and drug addiction proved abortive.

He also revealed that he was setting up a new ministry called ‘Freedom from Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Ministry’ (FADAM) to help fight against the identified issues among young people in Nigeria.

However, controversial Instagram blogger, Gistlover has said the older Obey-Fabiyi lied about the true condition of his late son, Olayinka.

In a post on Monday, the blogger claimed that the deceased was born to the singer out of wedlock, and was allegedly abandoned by the family.

Gistlover stated that contrary to the claims that Olayinka died of alcoholism and drug addiction, he was actually diagnosed with diabetes and stroke before his death.

The blogger further revealed that the younger Obey-Fabiyi lived in penury and his wife had to dump him at some point, forcing him to depend on well-being Nigerians to survive.

The claims have since sparked mixed Nigerians on social media, as many wonder why the celebrated singer would mislead the public about the demise of his deceased son.
