Manchester United’s gaffer, Ole Gunner Solskajaer has made defiant claim of turning the club’s tide around despite another home defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

The Norwegian returns under pressure after City’s dominant display against his seemingly struggling United team. He is optimistic about remaining as Man United’s head coach as he believes he is still the right man for the job.

“Can I turn United’s season around? Definitely. And you’re right, back to where we should be, for me it’s about back to what we started to look like, we started to look a proper team, we started to look like a team I like to see. We’ve had three or four weeks now of a disappointing spell,” Solskajaer told Sky Sports.

“I have good communication with the club. I want the best for United and as long as I’m here I want to do everything I can to improve this,” he revealed.

Following the sack of Norwich’s coach, Daniel Farke, whose team recorded the first win in eleven Premier League games yesterday, there have been questions on Solskajaer’s fate at Manchester United. His job seems be hanging in the balance as football leagues commence another international break.

Considering the rollercoaster performance of the Solskajaer’s team so far this season, United’s hierarchy are left to decide the club’s fate over the break.

After the devastating defeat at home to Liverpool, the leadership placed Solskajaer on three matches test which include the Tottenham, Atalanta, and Man City games. Manchester United succeeded in winning the first two before slumping into another defeat to Man City.

On the win against Tottenham and Atalanta, Solskajaer was not short of praise over the tactics he applied in winning the match. He, however, admitted that things didn’t go as planned following their defeat to Man City.

He noted, “The result and performance against Tottenham was good but it’s not what we want to look like, to put it that way. We want to be on the front foot and more aggressive. But unfortunately, we’ve had to try and get a few good results. We got a couple against Atalanta and Tottenham but today was a big step back.”
