The NBC has once again banned top Nigerian songs

The National Broadcasting Commision, NBC has hit its hammer on some rave of the moment Nigerian songs sending music fans into a frenzy.
The body which is responsible for regulating music circulated on the Nigerian airwaves recently released a list of songs which should seize being broadcasted in the country.

Olamide and Davido are the worst hit in this latest ban

Affected songs include; ‘Fall’ and ‘If’ by DMW boss, Davido, ‘Wo’ and ‘Wavy Level’ by Olamide and controversial single, ‘Living Things’ by 9ice.

Many Nigerians however are of the opinion that the act might be belated as most of these songs have had their moments on the airwaves.
Few days ago, Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health took to Social Media to condemn the visuals of Olamide’s ‘Wo’ so the unsurprising ban might not be unconnected. The Ministry had in a tweet revealed that “The public is informed of the dangerous public health content & violation of Tobacco Ctrl Act 2015 in ‘Wo’ by Olamide“.

It would  be recalled that Olamide has in the past fallen victim of the NBC hammer with some of his popular numbers including ‘Shakiti Bobo’, ‘Falila’ etc banned. Davido is also not left out. His first major international collaboration, ‘Fans Mi’ which featured American rapper, Meek Mill was also banned for “promoting violence and drug trafficking”.
