Nigerian rapper arrested for assaulting police officer

Popular Nigerian rapper, Panshak Henry Zamani better known as Ice Prince has made headlines, albeit for the wrong reasons.

In the early hours of Friday, the ‘Oleku’ crooner landed in the custody of the Lagos State Police Command after he allegedly assaulted a police officer.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, Ice Prince was flagged down by a police officer for driving without a license plate.

The rapper was said to have abducted the said officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the river.

Hundeyin added that the embattled musician would be arraigned today.

“At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today,” he tweeted.
