Twitter Suspension : Big Brother Naija Stops Airing Twitter Comments

Organisers of Big Brother Naija, BBNaija Season 6 has stopped airing comments from the bird application, Twitter.

In previous seasons, comments from viewers on Twitter about the show was aired at the bottom corner of the screen.

However, this Season 6 is different as Blackbox Nigeria has observed that only comments from Facebook are been displayed.

Recall that the Nigerian government banned Twitter, alleging the platform is capable of affecting the co-existence of Nigeria.

Following the Federal Government’s orders, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) immediately directed all broadcasting stations to suspend the usage of Twitter as anyone caught using the platform may be penalized.

What is Big Brother Naija?

Big Brother Naija, formerly known as Big Brother Nigeria, is a Nigerian reality competition television series, based on the Big Brother television franchise, in which, contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize and other material prizes.

The reality show has had five seasons since its inception, as its sixth season commences today, July 24, 2021.

The fifth season of Big Brother Nigeria(entitled Big Brother Naija), premiered on 19 July 2020 with 20 housemates and lasted 71 days.

Olamilekan “Laycon” Agbeleshe was crowned the winner of the fifth season. He received ₦85 million worth of prizes.
