The candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the position of Chairmen in the six councils in Ikorodu Division in the just concluded local government polls have emerged victorious, according to official results announced by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

The councils include Ikorodu Local Government and five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) namely; Ikorodu West, Ikorodu North, Igbogbo Bayeku, Ijede, and Imota.

In Imota LCDA, APC secured 5,474 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) managed 88 votes.

Ijede LCDA was another win for the APC where it secured 2780 votes against PDP’s meagre 206 votes.

Though marred by low voter turnout and logistics problems, the election on Saturday was held in several polling units across the 20 local government and 37 local council development areas in Lagos State for the positions of Chairmen and Councillors.
