Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has taken his latest project, SWAGUU, to the top of Spotify’s global album debut chart, recording the biggest album debut on the platform for the week.
SWAGUU debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart, placing Seyi Vibez ahead of other international releases during the same tracking period.
The feat came just days after the album was released on September 17, as the singer continues to record strong numbers across streaming platforms.
On its opening day, SWAGUU reportedly generated about 9.24 million global Spotify streams, while its third-day performance added another 5.17 million streams.
By September 23, the 14-track project had crossed 50 million Spotify streams in six days, with every song on the album surpassing one million streams. It became Seyi Vibez’s second-fastest project to reach the 50-million mark on the platform.
The album has also maintained a strong presence in Nigeria, where SWAGUU sits at No. 1 on the Apple Music Top Albums chart.
Released through NSNV INC/EMPIRE, SWAGUU features 14 tracks and includes a guest appearance from American rapper Quavo on the title track.
The album explores themes including ambition, relationships, love and Seyi Vibez’s connection with his home audience.
The global chart performance adds another milestone to Seyi Vibez’s streaming record, with SWAGUU continuing to attract listeners beyond Nigeria in its first week.
