Toyin Ibitoye Bows Out As Media Officer of the Super Eagles

After five-and-half years of service, veteran Nigerian sports analyst and journalist, Toyin Ibitoye, takes his exit as the spokesperson for the Super Eagles. Toyin was appointed on March 18, 2015 appointed as Media Officer to the Nigeria national football team by the Nigeria Football Federation. An alumnus of the University of Ibadan and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, he currently works for Channels TV.

He made this known via a series of tweets posted on his official Twitter page, @Toyin_Ibitoye. The first tweet reads, “My assignment as @NGSuperEagles Media Officer has ended. I must say a big thank you to @thenff, especially president @PinnickAmaju for the opportunity to serve”.

Equally, he appreciated the “coach Gernot Rohr, the players and staff for making the job really pleasurable.” The tweets further stated, “I also want to show great appreciation to my colleagues in the media. Every single one of you. The support was total…100%. Without this, the job would have been a nightmare.”

He then urged fans and others to extend the same quality of support he enjoyed to the new spokesperson, Babafemi Raji, who he believes “will do much better than I did.”

Recently, the Nigeria Football Federation had announced Babafemi Raji as the new Media Officer of the Super Eagles.
