No doubt, players in Nigerian entertainment are not just about failed unions and broken marriages that many have come to stereotype the industry to be.
One of those frantically proving this narrative is award winning singer and song writer, Omawumi, who is celebrating her seventh wedding anniversary with her husband, Tosin Yussuf.
The talented singer couldn’t hold back her excitement as she took her Instagram page on Sunday to share a beautiful video showing loved-up moments with her hubby.
Expressing gratitude for their journey, she jokingly made a reference to reports that marriages conducted at Ikoyi registry were illegal, saying God’s mercy kept her union firm.
“7 years holding it down! Ikoyi registry wanted to turn us back to boyfriend and girlfriend but Mercy said NO! Happy anniversary Sugar,” she wrote.
After years of dating, the duo exchanged marital vows in January 2015 at Ikoyi registry. Three years later, they had their low-key traditional wedding at Omawumi’s hometown in Warri, Delta State. The union is blessed with a daughter, Emmanuella Kamillah Yusuf.
