Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has won the Best International Act award at the 2026 Liberian Entertainment Awards (LEA), beating a strong field that included Rema and Tyla.
The award was presented during the ceremony held on April 25 at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC, United States, where artists and industry stakeholders gathered to celebrate excellence across entertainment.
Davido emerged winner ahead of other nominees such as American rapper Gunna and singer Fridayy, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s most influential global music exports.
The Liberian Entertainment Awards, established in 2009, recognises outstanding achievements in music, film, fashion, sports, and community service among Liberian creatives and the diaspora, while also honouring international talents.
Industry observers say the latest win underscores the growing global appeal of Afrobeats, with Nigerian artistes continuing to dominate major international platforms.
The victory adds to Davido’s expanding list of international accolades and highlights his sustained relevance in an industry increasingly shaped by new-generation stars like Rema and Tyla.
