A member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination and expression of interest forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, formally signalling the start of his 2027 re-election bid.

Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency, picked up the forms on Tuesday at the APC national secretariat in Abuja as the ruling party commenced the sale of forms for the next general election cycle.

The forms, valued at ₦100 million, were collected following the official opening of the process by the party’s leadership, marking Tinubu as one of the earliest aspirants to make a move ahead of the 2027 presidential race.

In a related development, he reportedly obtained governorship form for Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, the deputy governor of Lagos State who is running for the governorship position in the state.

According to APC nomination and screening fees schedule, he acquired the governor’s form for a sum of N50million naira, making the total forms collected totalled N150million naira.

Party sources indicated that the move underscores growing momentum within the APC around Tinubu’s potential second-term ambition, with key allies already mobilising support across political structures.

Tinubu, who assumed office in 2023, has yet to formally declare his intention to run again, but the development is widely interpreted as a strong indication of his expected participation in the upcoming election.

The APC’s sale of nomination and expression of interest forms is a key early step in its internal process to select candidates for the 2027 general elections, as political activities gradually intensify nationwide.
