By US rapper, A$AP Rocky was charged on Monday over an alleged shooting in Hollywood last year.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, the 33-year-old, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, faces two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
A$AP Rocky was alleged to have pointed the gun at a one-time friend during an argument in November 2021, the authorities said.
The New York-born rapper allegedly fired the gun at the victim, who sustained “a minor injury.”
He has been ordered to appear in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, according to District Attorney George Gascon.
The “Praise the Lord (Da Shine)” artist was arrested over the incident at Los Angeles International Airport in April when he arrived on a private plane from Barbados.
He was said to have been on the island with his then-pregnant girlfriend award-winning singer, Rihanna. The celebrity couple welcomed a baby boy on May 13 in Los Angeles.
In 2019, A$AP Rocky was arrested in Stockholm over a street brawl. He spent over a month in Swedish custody, and was handed a suspended sentence.
