Preliminary inquiries into the untimely demise of the renowned Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, are set to commence this Friday, September 29th.
The proceedings will unfold at the Magistrate court in Ikorodu, Lagos, and are expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the artist’s “very tragic” death under mysterious circumstances.
The revelation of this inquiry comes after a letter dated September 18th, 2023, addressed to the Chief Coroner of the High Court of Lagos State, Justice Mojisola Dada, by the prestigious law firm of Falana and Falana Chambers.
In their communication, the firm expressed the urgent need for an inquest to uncover the truth behind Mohbad’s passing.
Magistrate Taofikat Shotobi, the Coroner tasked with overseeing the investigation, confirmed the commencement of the inquiry through a letter dated September 26th.
This letter was directed to Falana and Falana Chambers and outlined the directive from Hon. Justice Mojisola Dada, the Chief Coroner of Lagos State, to initiate an inquest in accordance with Sections 14 and 15 of the Coroner’s System Law of Lagos State, Cap C15, Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The late Afrobeats sensation, who resided in the Ikorodu area, tragically passed away on September 12th at the young age of 27.
As the public awaits the findings of the forthcoming inquest, questions linger about the circumstances that led to the untimely demise of this talented artist.
