Ikorodu Delivers Highest Votes as APC Confirms Hamzat’s Candidacy with 657,917 Votes

Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has secured a total of 657,917 votes in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary process across Lagos State, with Ikorodu Local Government Area returning the highest number of votes to confirm his candidacy.

Results released from the exercise showed that Hamzat recorded victories across the participating local government areas, polling significant numbers in key APC strongholds.

Ikorodu led the vote tally with 55,148 votes, followed by Alimosho with 74,501 votes, while Ifako-Ijaiye contributed 38,627 votes. Mushin returned 38,971 votes, Epe recorded 37,680 votes, and Ojo delivered 36,372 votes.

Other results showed that Ibeju-Lekki returned 33,861 votes, Ajeromi-Ifelodun recorded 31,079 votes, Oshodi-Isolo delivered 31,972 votes, and Eti-Osa contributed 28,754 votes. Lagos Island returned 27,348 votes, Ikeja recorded 21,588 votes, while Amuwo-Odofin delivered 20,818 votes.

Agege returned 16,257 votes, Shomolu recorded 16,706 votes, and Surulere contributed 17,495 votes.

The cumulative votes from the listed local government areas stood at 657,917, underscoring widespread support for Hamzat within the ruling party’s structure across the state.

Party stakeholders described the outcome as a strong endorsement of Hamzat’s leadership credentials and political influence ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The results also highlighted Ikorodu’s significant contribution to the exercise, making it one of the major vote-producing areas in the APC’s internal political process in Lagos State.

Hamzat, who has remained a prominent figure in Lagos politics, is expected to build on the support demonstrated during the primary process as preparations for the forthcoming elections gather momentum.
