The married woman whose husband was almost killed during a recent shooting at a Lagos nightclub involving policemen attached to Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has recounted the ugly incident.
It would be recalled that the Grammy winning artiste made headlines weeks ago after his associates almost killed fun-seekers at the popular Cubana Nightclub situated in the Victoria Island area of Lagos.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Monday, the lady who was assaulted alongside her husband narrated her ordeal in the hands of the musician and his associates.
According to the lady identified as Briella Neme, she and her partner were in Nigeria for their friend’s wedding. She explained that on the fateful day of the ugly incident, they visited Cubana Nightclub to celebrate the newly weds in the company of about twenty friends.
As the night progressed, one of Burna Boy’s friends accosted her on behalf of the singer, a move she resisted being a married woman.
“On the first attempt I told them I wasn’t interested in talking to Burna Boy and I am married to my partner. He came again the second time and was met with the same response, he came the third time and that caused a few of our friends to flare up as they asked why he kept coming to disturb me,” Briella said.
This, she recounted, broke out into a fight between her friends and Burna Boy’s men. It was, however, resolved by the security men at the club.
Moments later, another fight was started by the musician’ crew, and that time, shooting was involved, allegedly on the orders of Burna Boy.
Briella said, “At this point I couldn’t find my partner or My best friend. I was screaming for help after being lifted and thrown so hard on the floor by one of Burna’s friends and I hurt my left shoulder. All our private police officers were not allowed into the club, so it was left to us to fight for our lives.
“One of our friends @theflowolf was trying to get Burna boy to calm the situation but he only laughed at him and proceeded to get in his car whilst being protected.”
She said her partner and his friend were both injured by the bullets, while the musician left the nightclub unscratched.
The married woman alleged that the owner of the nightclub, Obi Cubana took four days before he reached out to them about the ugly incident, promising to help them get justice for the attempted murder.
Briella added that 11 days since the shooting, Cubana Nightclub is yet to make a statement or address the issue.
She added the ugly incident has left her traumatised.
“I’ve broken down everyday since then. The random flashbacks and nightmares. Especially after seeing @burnaboygram response. The lack of remorse or accountability is beyond me. At least 2 people could’ve died that night.”
