After a messy separation from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, life has been pretty fair to the monarch’s ex-wife, Queen Wuraola Zaynab Otiti-Obanor.
The Edo princess, whose two-year marriage to the revered Yoruba king didn’t produce a child, has not found love but also joined the league of mothers.
According to fresh reports reaching BlackBox Nigeria, Otiti-Obanor recently welcomed a bouncing baby girl with her new husband, an Arab prince, whose identity remains unknown except for the fact that he is a billionaire.
The birth of the newborn also thrashed a theory in Yoruba land that a former wife of the Ooni wouldn’t be able to have sexual relations with another man, talkless of giving birth, due to certain ancestral powers bestowed on the monarch.
Meanwhile, the ex-queen has kept a low profile since parting ways with Oba Ogunwusi in 2017 after their marriage reportedly hit the rocks over alleged infidelity.
But Otiti-Obanor had denied the claims in a statement, insisting that the breakup had nothing to do with infidelity on her part.
“We have got to stop this culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity and nefarious behaviour. The spread of false information (through ‘sources’ afraid to be identified) is the mark of cowards and a cover up for guilty parties to justify their horrific actions. There is absolutely no truth to the media circulated lies of infidelity and infertility from my end,” she wrote at the time.
The Ooni, on his part, found love again in an evangelist, Naomi Silekunola, with whom he tied the nuptial knot in 2018. But unfortunately, their union crashed three years later, in 2021, raising fears about the celebrated monarch’s incapacity to keep a marriage.
