The family of late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke, has disclosed that he died from complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
In a statement released on behalf of the family, the actor was said to have passed away at Evercare Hospital after what was described as a brief but courageous battle with the illness.
The statement expressed deep sorrow over the actor’s demise, describing him as a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend.
According to the family, Alexx endured his health challenges with strength, faith, and hope despite the difficult circumstances surrounding his condition.
“After a brief but courageous battle, Alexx passed away at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer,” the statement read.
“Throughout this difficult journey, he bore his pain with remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and enduring hope, believing that one day his testimony would be shared with the world.”
The family appealed to the public for privacy and prayers as they mourn the late actor.
They also stated that details regarding funeral arrangements and other family matters would be announced later.
Alexx Ekubo was widely known in the Nigerian film industry for his roles in several Nollywood productions and had built a strong fan base over the years.
