Davido offers scholarship to boy who secured 9As in WAEC

Award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has awarded a scholarship to a secondary school leaver to pursue a degree at Adeleke University in Osun State.

The boy identified as Morro Suleyman had broken the internet after his result for the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) surfaced on social media.

Suleyman, who sat for the exam at Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC) in the Bono Region of Ghana, obtained parallel A1 in all the nine subjects he wrote.

Despite his stellar academic result, he has however been at home for months as his parents couldn’t afford to fund his university education.

Davido who came across the story signalled his intention to help Suleyman and called on people to help him locate the prodigy.

The superstar took to his Twitter page on Wednesday to announce that he reached to the young Ghanaian and offered him a scholarship at the varsity owned by his billionaire dad.

“We have contacted Suleyman who lives in Ghana and he has been given a full 4/5 year scholarship to Adeleke university .. accommodation and allowance included ! God bless y’all,” he wrote.

Last November, the self-styled ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ — son of a rich man — donated N250m to various orphanage homes across the country. The funds were raised after the singer jokingly called out his friends on social media asking them to send him money. In his usual act of generosity, Davido made a personal donation of N50 to the N200m raised in two days.
