Socialite and businessman, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Cubana Chief Priest, who serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, had sought to secure the party’s ticket to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
The nightlife promoter had earlier purchased the APC nomination and expression of interest forms, describing his political ambition as part of efforts to promote youth empowerment and grassroots development in the constituency.
His entry into the race generated mixed reactions among political stakeholders and constituents. While some supporters praised his popularity, philanthropy, and influence among youths, critics questioned his political experience and readiness for legislative duties.
However, at the conclusion of the APC primary election conducted as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, Cubana Chief Priest failed to emerge as the party’s candidate for the federal constituency seat.
