Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Al-ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the race to represent Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The 30-year-old aspirant announced his withdrawal in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State and published on his verified Facebook page on Saturday.
According to him, the decision followed ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party and consultations with key stakeholders.
“Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately,” the letter read in part.
“This was not an easy decision. But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party.”
Buba explained that after consultations with his family, political associates, and APC stakeholders, he concluded that stepping down was in the best interest of the party.
“I believe that uniting behind a single candidate is paramount to our victory in the general election and for the continued progress of our constituency and state,” he added.
The APC aspirant expressed appreciation to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the party leadership for allowing him to participate in the nomination process.
He noted that the experience had enriched him politically and thanked constituents and supporters for standing by him throughout the contest.
Buba also reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, stressing that his withdrawal should not be seen as a sign of weakness but as a sacrifice made for the unity and success of the party.
He pledged to work for the victory of the party’s consensus candidate and urged his supporters to remain calm, united, and committed to the APC ahead of the elections.
Meanwhile, Buba had earlier been involved in an age-related controversy during his bid for the APC ticket. While he claimed 30years of age during the aspiration and nomination process, critics say he’s not upto that given his stature and look.
