FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has warned financial institutions against opening accounts for a rival PDP faction reportedly led by Tanimu Turaki.
Speaking in Abuja, the minister said any bank that facilitates such accounts would face serious consequences, insisting that only a legally recognised party leadership can operate official financial structures.
He further threatened to seal off any property or office used by the faction within the Federal Capital Territory, describing their actions as illegal and in violation of court rulings.
The warning comes amid an ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP, with rival factions laying claim to the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
The twin developments highlight both the vulnerability of Nigerians abroad and the intensifying political tensions at home as the country approaches another election cycle.
