The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will no longer hold today as scheduled following a last-minute change in plans.
According to the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the party’s NEC meeting has been postponed to Wednesday.
This decision was prompted by the timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 elections and the manifesto drafting committee.
Ologunagba disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the end of the National Caucus meeting held on Monday night.
He said, “The National Caucus meeting is adjourned to continue on Wednesday. The Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting and NEC meeting will now be held on Wednesday, March 16.”
Meanwhile, there have been serious divisions and anxieties in the PDP over the zoning of its presidential ticket. Top leaders in the party including state governors are reportedly divided over the region more deserving of the presidential candidate.
However, report has it that the PDP will take a final decision at its NEC meeting billed to hold on Wednesday.
