The Lagos APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Council has taken its political engagement to Nigerians in the United Kingdom, participating in the launch of the Lagos Grassroots Alliance in the Diaspora in Milton Keynes and Birmingham on October 24 and 25, 2026.
The events brought together APC stakeholders and members of the Nigerian diaspora, including APC UK Chairman, Hon. Tunde Doherty, and Hon. Banjo, the Lagos State APC Financial Secretary, who represented the campaign council’s Director-General, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.
Engr. Gbolahan Gbadamosi, Director of Special Duties, Diaspora, of the Lagos APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, was represented by Ayodeji Tinubu.
Speaking on behalf of Gbadamosi, Tinubu urged Nigerians in the UK to remain engaged in political developments in Nigeria and participate in conversations about the country’s future ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also defended the reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda, arguing that continuity was necessary to consolidate the gains claimed by the government.
On Lagos State politics, Tinubu called on Nigerians with ties to Lagos to support Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
He said decisions about the state’s leadership should reflect its development priorities, existing institutions and future aspirations.
Tinubu also urged Nigerians in the UK to encourage eligible relatives and friends at home who had registered to vote but were yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so ahead of the elections.
He said diaspora communities could contribute to the electoral process by staying informed about political developments and encouraging eligible voters in their home communities to participate.
The Lagos Grassroots Alliance in the Diaspora launch provided a platform for APC stakeholders and Nigerians in the UK to discuss political participation and developments in Lagos State.
Tinubu commended the organisers for establishing the platform, describing it as an avenue for strengthening communication between Nigerians abroad and political stakeholders at home.
The campaign council said its participation reflected its commitment to engaging diaspora communities as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
