The donation by the Federal Lawmaker is coming as a response to the frequent agitation by the community.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the community had been in darkness for a while now due to unavailability of transformer. Residents’ several efforts to draw attention of relevant authorities to their plight had proved abortive.
Hon Babajimi Benson, who was ably represented at the commissioning by Hon Jokomba and Alhaji Ori-Are, said that the gesture was in line with the demands of the people. He further said that the transformer is being installed at strategic location to check the erratic power supply in Apakin/Gberigbe CDA and its environs.
On his scorecard as a legislator, Babajimi Benson and the entire iCARE Team was revealed to have embarked on various programmes since 2015 to improve the condition of the people of Ikorodu federal constituency.
The occasion was also used to reassure that the erudite lawmaker will keep to his words of making life better for the people when re-elected, stressing that promises made to the people must be fulfilled to bring government closer to the people.
In the reaction of some of the community members, the gesture of Babajimi Benson was described as unique; stressing that the lawmaker had shown an example that is worthy of emulation by other community leader.
