Tinubu’s ex-campaigner endorses Kwankwaso for president

A former member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin has described the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso as the “best bet” for a new Nigeria.

Jibrin, who was the Director-General of the Tinubu Support Management Council, recently joined the NNPP after defecting from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ex-lawmaker had revealed that he dumped the ruling party “to survive an onslaught by a vengeful man” who many presumed to be his erstwhile political benefactor, Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Following his defection, he immediately withdrew his involvement with the campaign of former Lagos State governor and presidential hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

In a rather interesting twist of events, Jibrin is now backing the NNPP presidential flagbearer who, according to him, is “grounded in governance and leadership”.

He took to his Twitter page on Tuesday to highlight Kwankwaso’s professional and political credentials.

“Our next President come 2023 insha Allah, Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso PhD. A waiting tsunami with the North already in his kitty! As an Alumni of all the governance and leadership structures in the country, his national outlook, network and structure can never be in doubt,” he wrote.

“Civil Servant (Water Engineer 17 years), Deputy Speaker and Alumni House of Reps 1992, constitutional conference 1994, Governors forum 1999-2003 and 2011-2015, Ministers 2003-2006, Ambassadors 2006-2008,Board appointees NNDC 2008-2010 and Alumni of Senators class of 2015-2019.

“Presidential Aspirant APC 2015, Presidential Aspirant PDP 2019, and Presidential CANDIDATE NNPP 2023.

“We will continue to work quietly to get the best pair for him. He has seen it all as a Civil Servant, Legislature, Executive, Diplomatic Corp and politics with insight knowledge of all the major parties. He is grounded in governance and leadership. He is ready to FIX Nigeria. He is our best bet for the NEW NIGERIA we all yearn for.”

BlackBox Nigeria had reported that Kwankwaso picked Ladipo Johnson, a Lagos lawyer, as his “placeholder” running mate to meet the June 17 deadline of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
