Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a strong warning to Yoruba individuals allegedly collaborating with kidnapping gangs operating in the Southwest region.
Speaking at the palace of the traditional ruler of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, Igboho vowed to take drastic action against anyone found aiding criminal groups involved in abductions.
According to him, some Yoruba indigenes are working alongside Fulani groups to facilitate the kidnapping of residents across the region.
“There are some Yorubas collaborating with Fulani groups in the kidnapping of our people and aiding them,” he said.
“I will kill any Yoruba person supporting and conniving with Fulani to kidnap in our land; the judgement for such a person is death. Anybody that hails from Igboho and is supporting Fulani groups to kidnap people will not end well.”
His remarks come days after he issued a two-hour ultimatum to members of the Fulani community in Igboho to secure the release of a pregnant woman and her sibling who were reportedly abducted in the area.
The activist has repeatedly accused criminal elements of carrying out kidnappings and other violent crimes in parts of the Southwest, urging communities to resist anyone assisting such activities.
