Skit maker Cute Abiola released from naval detention

Popular social media comedian, Abdulgafar Ahmad better known as Cute Abiola, has been released from the custody of the Nigerian Navy.

The PUNCH reported that the naval spokesperson, Commodore Suleman Dahun, confirmed the development on Friday.

Recall that the skit maker was declared missing on Monday, November 15, 2021 by his colleague, Debo Adedayo (Mr Macaroni) who raised the alarm that he was nowhere to be found after reporting at his office in Navy Town, Lagos.

In reaction, the Nigerian Navy in a statement cleared the air over the comedian’s purported missing status, saying he was detained for contravening the armed forces’ social media policy.

Naval spokesperson, however, told The PUNCH on Friday, that Ahmad knowingly violated the social media policy of the armed forces but was given a punishment after he was tried for misconduct and indiscipline.

Dahun added that the skit maker has been released to serve his punishment and no longer in the naval detention.
