Reports claiming that Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has died have sparked concern among fans and members of the gospel music community.

The reports emerged on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after lawyer and Convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), Pelumi Olajengbesi, shared a post expressing grief over the singer.

“My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings,” Olajengbesi wrote, lamenting the deaths of young Nigerians.

However, comedian and skit maker Woli Agba urged the public not to jump to conclusions, saying people were still praying for the singer.

“Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please,” he wrote in a social media post.

Gospel singer Lanre Alewilese also appealed to people to continue praying and stop sharing unconfirmed reports.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement from Toluwanisings’ family had confirmed or denied his reported death.

The circumstances surrounding the reports also remained unclear.
