General Reconnects with Former Command Sergeant Major: A Story of Camaraderie, Legacy

Maj Gen VT Okoro, currently serving as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2nd Division in Ibadan, recently took a heartwarming journey down memory lane.

Recalling his early days as a young officer, he fondly recounted his association with Command Sergeant Major (CSM) WO Adegoke, affectionately known as “Dan Arewa,” during his posting at the 93 Battalion in Jos.

This tale of friendship and respect between a commanding officer and his sergeant major showcases the deep bonds that are forged in the military.

Gen Okoro expressed his admiration for WO Adegoke’s unwavering dedication and leadership, which left an indelible mark on him as a young officer. 

Upon learning that WO Adegoke had retired and settled in Ibadan, Gen Okoro made it a personal mission to reconnect with his former mentor.

Reflecting on their journey, Gen Okoro urged everyone to strive for excellence and kindness in all their endeavors.
