Nigerian social media personality and comedian, Sunday Joshua Martins, widely known as De General, has opened up about his unique approach to dating.

In a recently shared video on his social media platform, De General discussed his preference for exclusively dating girls who are 18 years old.

In the video, De General addressed a concerning trend he has observed among women in their mid-20s.

He highlighted that these women often place excessive pressure on their partners to rush into marriage proposals.

Expressing his curiosity about the underlying motivations for such haste, he questioned whether these women had fully considered the potential consequences of their actions.

To cope with this perceived pressure, De General detailed his distinct dating strategy.

He explained that he intentionally chooses to engage with girls who are 18 years old.

His rationale for this preference is rooted in the belief that younger women are not in a hurry to tie the knot.

He stated that he finds their lack of urgency refreshing, as it allows for a more relaxed and enjoyable dating experience.

De General further revealed that he has devised a timeline for his relationships.

Once the girls he dates reach the age of 24, he initiates a breakup.

He humorously remarked that this preemptive breakup ensures he avoids the potential strain of being pressured into commitment or marriage.

De General said,

“What’s is it with girls that are 24 years old? All of you just want to get married. You start putting pressure on your boyfriend to marry. Are you people not scared? That’s why I date girls of 18yrs. Before they get to 24, I just break up.”
