Rep. Babajimi Benson doles out N10m financial support to Ikorodu market women, tuition for tertiary students

No fewer than 200 market men and women across the 6 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ikorodu Federal Constituency have benefitted from the youth and women financial assistance facilitated by the lawmaker representing the Constituency in the House of Representatives, Babajimi Benson.

At the event which took place on Friday at the lawmaker’s his constituency office situated after Solebo Estate, Igbogbo, the market men and women, who received the alert of the sum of fifty thousand naira each in their bank accounts for assistance on their micro, small and medium businesses, were full of commendation and prayers for the kind gesture of their representative.

In his words, Benson said he facilitated both tuition assistance to first year students of public universities and financial assistance for market men and women to help alleviate the financial burden on his constituents occasioned by the global economic crisis.

He noted that the essence of the programme was to ensure a cost-multiplier effect of what they have benefitted from the empowerment pogramme, while urging the beneficiaries to actively participate in the 2023 general elections.

Speaking at the event on behalf of the Director General of National Productivity Centre, Dr. Kashim Yunusa Akor, the State Coordinator Chinwe Okwuosa, encouraged the market women to deploy the facilitated fund to the purpose it was intended for it to have the desired economic impact.

She went further to appreciate Rep. Babajimi Benson for putting his constituents first in his legislative consideration.

The event had in attendance, party leaders, council chairmen, the Olu Ibeshe of Ibeshe, traditional chiefs, among others.
