By Prayers, Accolades As NASFAT Celebrates Golden Son Of Ikorodu, Babajimi ‘Jubril’ Adegoke Benson At 50
It was all prayers and accolades on Sunday, January 20, 2022, as members of Nasrul-lahi-li Fathi Society of Nigeria, Ikorodu Branch honours member House Representatives, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Babajimi Benson at its NASFAT Islamic Centre, Akasoleri, Ikorodu.
In the special prayer event tagged “Honouring an Achiever” put together to celebrate his landmark contribution to the development of Ikorodu division and also signal the beginning of celebration for his 50th birthday..
Speaking at the event, the Branch Chairman of Nasfat Ikorodu, Alhaji Mikhail Oladapo Longe said hosting the celebration of the Chairman House Committee on Defence showed confirmed that the society is a pace-setting society to host this kind of programme. He further noted that the Branch had been organizing special prayers for special and honoured illustrious sons and daughters of Ikorodu in the past.
“Today’s programme is thoughtful and on point to celebrate Honourable Babajimi Benson for his landmark achievements in Ikorodu division. Your contributions cannot be overemphasized and the aim of the programme is to; pray with Honourable Babajimi Benson; celebrate with him as he clocks 50years on earth and pray for our community and the country at large,” he said.
The highlight of the event was the christening of the development focused member of the green chamber with the Islamic name Jubril after archangel Jubril considered to be one of the highly revered messengers of God. Jubril muslims believed act as intermediary between God and humans and as bearer of revelation to the prophets, most notably to Muhammad. It is believed that Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson is a worthy messenger to the people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
In support to the different activities of Nasfat Islamic Centre, Rep. Benson donated two (2) million to the society while other invited guests also supported with handsome donations.
Taking to his personal social media handles after the event, Rep. Benson appreciates NASFAT for finding him worthy of the society and said he is proud to associate with them.
“Today (Sunday), I was honoured with a special prayer in celebration of my forthcoming golden jubilee celebration by the entire Muslim community and particularly NASFAT, Ikorodu branch.
“I am proud to associate with the religious organization and entire Muslim community in Ikorodu Federal Constituency for the continuous prayers, support and confidence reposed in me to represent the good people of Ikorodu.
“My sincere gratitude to the Chief Imam, Ikorodu Central Mosque, Sheikh Seifudeen Olowooribi and other Islamic clerics, Chairman, NASFAT Ikorodu branch, Engr. Longe, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, President Oriwu Club, Engr. Oduborisha, Ikorodu Local Government chairmen, iCare Foundation members, among many others for the unflinching support at the occasion,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
