Outstanding LASU student wins Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria scholarship

A final year student of the Lagos State University, Sina Akinmusire has emerged as one of the winners of the 2021 scholarship scheme of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN).

According to a statement from the university, Akinmusire, who is from the Faculty of Law, and four students from other universities in Nigeria were selected for excelling in the BOSAN competition organised for university Law students in the country.

No fewer than 114 first-class students were nominated from 34 universities across the nation for the competition. Afterwards, they were selected for the qualifying examination which was graded by Prof. Enefiok Essien SAN and former LASU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun SAN.

The top 12 students with the highest scores in the examination were shortlisted for the follow-up oral interview. The panel of interview was made up of Mr Dele Adesina SAN, Mr Sebastine Hon SAN, Mr. Liman Hassan SAN, Prof. Oluyemisi Bamgbose SAN and Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa.

The prestigious Lagos Continental Hotel played host to the final event, BOSAN 2021 Annual Dinner and Scholarship Awards held on Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN; former Head of State, His Excellency General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN, were among dignitaries who graced the event.

Meanwhile, Akinmusire’s scholarship comes shortly he, alongside Titilayo Ibrahim, won the Intellectual Property Law Advocate Contest, held earlier this month.
