Nigerian comedian and actor, Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Performance (Acting) with Distinction from the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, United Kingdom.
The entertainer announced the achievement in a social media post, expressing gratitude to God, his family, friends and supporters who have followed his journey as an artist.
Adedayo described the academic experience as challenging but rewarding, saying it contributed to his personal and professional development.
He also thanked those who supported him throughout the journey and expressed optimism about the opportunities ahead.
Adedayo, whose full name is Adebowale Babatunde Adedayo, is widely recognised for his Daddy Wa character, through which he uses comedy to address issues such as infidelity, social behaviour and relationships.
Before becoming popular as a skit maker, he had already established an interest in acting. He began featuring in Nollywood productions around 2010 and later ventured into digital content creation in 2019, when his comedy videos gained widespread attention.
His educational journey also reflects his commitment to acting. He obtained a degree in Theatre Arts and Film Studies from Redeemer’s University, Osun State, in 2018. He previously trained at PEFTI Film Institute, where he earned a certificate in acting.
At Mountview, he further developed his acting skills and took part in the 2026 production of Howard Brenton’s historical play 55 Days, playing Lord Thomas Fairfax.
Beyond entertainment, Mr Macaroni has become known for his involvement in civic activism, particularly during the 2020 #EndSARS protests, where he advocated for police accountability and the protection of citizens’ rights.
His contributions to entertainment have also earned him several recognitions, including The Future Awards Africa Prize for Content Creation in 2020 and the Prize for Acting in 2025.
The latest academic achievement adds to his professional development and marks another milestone in his journey from acting and comedy skits to establishing himself as a recognised figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
