By ORUSHEN: Book focusing on the history of Ikorodu launches in grand style
Ikorodu stood still yesterday, Monday November 13, 2017 as the highly anticipated book, Orushen was launched in grand style.
Orushen which is a literature chronicling the history of Ikorodu divisional towns is written by Aderoju Ladega, an indigene of Ikorodu born into a royal household . Orushen means ‘The Source’ or ‘The Origin’ with Ladega focusing on the history of her people.
The grand event which held at the Ikorodu Town Hall had the cream de’la cream of Ikorodu in attendance while others who couldn’t attend were ably represented.
The guests included; the chairman of Ikorodu Development Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, Director General of iCare Foundation; Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Dr. Taiwo Hassan, Ikorodu Local Government chairman; Hon. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, Alhaja Basirat Akinsanya, Sogo Oshikoya, Hon. Jimoh Hamzat, Bayode Oteju, Rasheed Fatuga of Ikorodu Ambassadors Group amongst others.
Represented at the event were, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Hon. Babajimi Benson (MHR), Babatunde Gbadamosi (BOG), Hon. SOB Agunbiade (Majority Leader, LAHA) and many others.
