The Yoruba movie industry, an arm of Nollywood has lost another actor as reports reaching BlackBox Nigeria has it that Abeokuta based Rotimi Ayinde is dead.
Born Oluwarotimi Isiah Ayinde, he was called by his stage name Abu Olododo by colleagues and fans.
He died at his residence in Abeokuta, Sunday night at the age of 51 leaving behind a wife and four kids.
The news of his death was confirmed by a close associate, veteran actor Waheed ‘Dimeji’ Ijaduade who disclosed that he spoke with the deceased on Sunday evening but was shocked on learning about the demise the next day.
“We chatted for a while on that night. He even asked me about the outcome of a summit that I attended in Lagos. We talked about other things and we agreed to meet on Monday or Tuesday before I went to bed. I went to his residence to see him the following day (Monday) as agreed only to learn that he was dead.
He never told me that he was sick. He appeared to be quite healthy when I spoke with him on the phone. His death remains a mystery to me,” Dimeji said.
His death occurred barely 48 hours after the death of Yoruba poet cum legendary actor, Adebayo Faleti.
