Nine left injured following gas explosion in Ogijo

Nine individuals sustained injuries in a gas explosion that rocked a steel company in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State on Saturday, affecting staff members who sustained injuries.
The incident occurred at Phoenix Steel Mills, Ogijo, causing concern and prompting a response from authorities.
Confirming the incident on Sunday night, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Omolola Odutola, stated that the victims were factory workers who were affected by the blast. She disclosed that the injured individuals were promptly transported to Rolayo Private Hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos State, for medical attention.
In her statement on Sunday night, Superintendent Odutola shed light on the circumstances surrounding the explosion, attributing it to a cylinder explosion at the melting point area of the factory.
“The situation is under control and close monitoring; there is no indication for panic, whereas further updates will be communicated to members of the public”, she added.
