Popular Nigerian juju and highlife musician, Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, widely known as St Janet, has died after a brief illness.
The singer reportedly passed away in the early hours of Sunday, August 2.
The news of her death was first announced by publisher and socialite Otunba Femi Davies, who shared the development on social media.
St Janet was a well-known figure in Nigeria’s juju music scene, earning widespread recognition for her energetic stage performances, outspoken personality and explicit lyrical style.
Over the years, she built a loyal fan base and remained a familiar face at parties, concerts and social events across the country.
According to the reports, the musician had been ill for a short period before her death.
However, her family had yet to release an official statement on the circumstances surrounding her passing or announce details of her burial arrangements as of the time of filing this report.
