Nigeria to face Argentina again as Spain go head to head with Portugal
Nigeria will once again face Argentina at a World Cup group stage as FIFA finally unveils Russia 2018 draws. The draw is coming two weeks after Nigeria defeated the South Americans 4-2 in a friendly match.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will for the fourth time be playing against Argentina at the World Cup following unimpressive outings at the 1994, 2002, 2010 and 2014 editions. Nigeria lost on all three occasions to despite showing promises before the games.

As FIFA earlier today drew the groupings for next year’s world cup, Gernot Rohr’s men again drew Argentina as well as Iceland and Croatia.

While Nigeria has never played against Croatia who won the bronze medal at the 1998 edition, the team has only played once against Iceland. The game against Nordic Island nation was an International Friendly held in 1981. Nigeria lost by three unreplied goals. This is however the first time Iceland will be qualifying for the World Cup.
Other Groups…
In other draws, host nation, Russia will be facing Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay in Groups A.
Group B has Portugal, Spain, Morocco and Iran while Group C has France, Australia, Peru and Denmark.
In Group E, Five-time World champions, Brazil takes on Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia while Group F has Germany, Mexico, Sweden and Korea Republic.
Group G has Belgium, Panama, Tunisia and England and Group H has Poland, Senegal, Columbia and Japan.
World Cup Opens
The World Cup opens on June 14, 2018 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
