MOBILISE AND CANVASS FOR VOTES WITHOUT VIOLENCE- TINUBU TELLD NURTW LEADERSHIP
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday met with the leadership of National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos State chapter and advised that violence must be left out in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.
The meeting which was held at Tinubu’s residence, located in Bourdillon road, Ikoyi area of Lagos State had in attendance past and present Executives of the Union.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the former Lagos Governor advised all present to mobilise and canvass for votes without the use of violence.
It will be recalled that pockets of violence were reported during the presidential election conducted on February 23rd in areas such as Oshodi/Isolo and Okota.
However, series of peace meeting has been reportedly held to curb down recurrence of such acts on Saturday.
Also, recall that the Union played a pivotal role few months ago in disrupting the flag off campaign of the APC governorship aspirant which saw MC Oluomo narrowly escaped with his life.
Present at the event were former State Chairman of the Union, Akanni Olohunwa, present chairman, Tajudeen Agbede. Others include; MC Oluomo, Kunle Poly, Femi JPron among others.
Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Lagos State is slated to be keenly contested by the ruling party’s Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Action Democratic Party, ADP and Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
