Some days ago, detained former Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Andrew Yakubu met his bail condition and was released as investigation into his case continues.
It was gathered that among the conditions set by the EFCC includes a serving Senator.
A source within the agency revealed that a Senator popularly known after he was caught sleeping during plenary session was the lawmaker that presented himself and got Yakubu released.
The source disclosed that he is the one representing Kaduna South senatorial district, Senator Danjuma Laah (Peoples Democratic Party).
The 56 years old lawmaker filled the bail document for the release of Yakubu.
The source also said Laah, popularly known as ‘the sleeping senator’ is a regular visitor to Yakubu’s Unguwan Wakili residence in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
