GTBank customers can now add their debit cards to Google Wallet and use Google Pay to make online payments locally and internationally.
Guaranty Trust Bank Limited announced the development in a statement, saying the service would allow customers to complete online transactions without repeatedly entering their card details.
With the integration, customers can select Google Pay at checkout to pay for subscriptions, flight and hotel bookings, food orders, goods and services, bills and other digital services.
The bank said the service would provide customers with access to a widely accepted digital payment option across multiple countries and regions.
It added that Google Pay incorporates security features designed to protect payment information during online transactions, offering customers a convenient way to make payments.
Commenting on the launch, GTBank Managing Director, Miriam Olusanya, said the service was introduced in response to growing demand for simpler and more secure online payment options.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for simpler and more secure ways to pay online, both locally and internationally. By enabling customers add their GTBank debit cards to Google Wallet, we are making online payments more convenient and giving them access to a globally recognised digital payment solution,” she said.
Olusanya added that the service reflected the bank’s commitment to improving everyday banking through technology and providing solutions suited to customers’ increasingly digital lifestyles.
She said Google Pay would give customers greater flexibility when making online payments while supporting a secure and seamless payment experience.
The launch adds another digital payment option for GTBank customers seeking to make online purchases and payments without manually entering their card details for each transaction.
