Former Square Records artiste, May D, has hinted that he will soon reveal his own experience with the Okoye family as the ongoing rift between P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye continues to dominate public attention.
The singer made the announcement in a post shared on his Instagram Story on Friday, writing: “Mr May D Part 1 coming soon,” accompanied by a laughing emoji, suggesting that he is preparing to share previously undisclosed details about his time with the family.
May D’s teaser comes amid renewed controversy surrounding the Okoye brothers.
Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has in recent weeks made a series of allegations against his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, accusing them of financial misconduct and unfair treatment.
The latest dispute is the latest chapter in the long-running fallout within the family.
P-Square, one of Africa’s most successful music groups, first split in 2017 following disagreements over management and financial issues involving Jude, who managed the duo under Square Records.
Although Peter and Paul reunited in 2021, their reconciliation was short-lived, with fresh disagreements emerging in 2024 after Peter accused Paul and Jude of diverting the group’s royalties to a company allegedly co-owned by Jude and his wife.
The accusations have sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many fans and celebrities expressing support for Peter and urging music lovers to stream his songs.
May D’s latest post has further fueled public interest, with many anticipating fresh revelations about his brief stint under Square Records.
The singer joined the label in 2011 but exited a year later after Square Records announced that both parties had parted ways due to what it described as irreconcilable differences.
