Lagos Assembly aspirant, Sanuth Muibat denies dumping APC

An aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Alimosho Constituency 2, Hon. Sanuth Muibat Omotunde has denied dumping the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement on Friday, Sanuth debunked a now-viral report that she, alongside some aggrieved members of the Lagos APC, have defected to the Boots Party, describing the claim as misleading and false.

“My attention has been drawn to a report by an online news publication, National Daily Newspapers, alleging that I was one of the party chieftains who dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State,” the statement read in part.

“In the false report, my name was listed among members of a supposed faction of the Lagos APC that defected from the ruling party to the Boots Party. I wish to state unequivocally that the claim is untrue, fraudulent and highly misleading.

“I remain a bonafide, loyal and dedicated member of the APC and have no intention of resigning my membership of the party now or later. Neither do I share any affiliation with the so-called faction. To the best of my knowledge, the Lagos APC has a single leadership led by Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.”

She finally urged the general public and members of the APC to disregard the unfounded rumour “being peddled by political desperadoes who are out to sow seeds of division in the party”.
