Kunle Afolayan announces new movie, ‘Ijogbon’
Nigerian movie director and producer, Kunle Afolayan is set to release another blockbuster movie titled ‘Ijogbon’.
Ijobon, which is written by Tunde Babalola, an award-winning movie writer, will be partnered with Afolayan’s KAP Motions and movie streaming platform, Netflix.
The setting of Ijobon is said to be in a rural area, which will feature the family adventure of four teenagers.
According to Afolayan, Ijobon depicts what life is like for teenagers in rural areas. It also shows the universality of human emotions.
“IJOGBON shows the universality of human emotions, defined by peculiar cultural backgrounds and beliefs,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
“Furhermore, the film depicts what life is like for teenagers in rural parts, and their aspirations for a better life, even if it means having to Japa (leaving the country).”
The cast for Ijogbon is robust and features the likes of Bimbo Manuel, Gabriel Afolayan, Sam Dede, Tana Adelana, Yemi Solade, Yemi Sodimu, Femi Branch, Adunni Ade, Dorathy Bachor and some young actors Ruby Akubueze, Ojuolape Kayode, Fawaz of Ikorodu Bois and Oluwaseyi Ebiesuwa.
The expected release date of the movie is yet to be announced as of the time of this report.
