Broda Shaggi beats Sabinus, others to emerge top Nigerian skit maker
Nigerian comedian and actor, Samuel Animashaun Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi has topped the 2022 ranking of Nigerian skit makers.
According to a list released by digital analytics firm, Dataleum, Broda Shaggi was named the top skit maker on Instagram in Nigeria in 2022.
Based on the total views, he emerged as top skit maker with 175.5 million views followed by Mr. Funny/Sabinus with 169.6 million views.
From January to December 2022, Broda Shaggi posted 270 skits on his Instagram page, resulting in over 175 million views.
The list, which is published quarterly, also revealed that following Broda Shaggi in the Top Five Nigerian Skit Makers List were Mr Funny (Sabinus), Brainjotter, Cute Abiola, and Taaooma.
Known for his “agbero” character, Broda Shaggi became a household name after his Instagram skits went viral. He would go on venture into the Nollywood industry, featuring in popular movies such as Dwindle (2021), reBirth (2022), Chief Daddy 2: Going For Broke (2022), and Inside Life (2022), among others.
