Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has revealed that he has been living with diabetes since 1996, saying he continues to manage the condition and take care of his health.
Kosoko made the disclosure during an appearance on the Talk to B Show, where he spoke about his health and personal life.
“I have been diabetic since 1996; I have been managing it. I understand my health better than some doctors do. Do not misquote me. I am not saying I know how to do everything, I just do not want to die,” he said.
The actor also defended his decision to continue attending social gatherings despite living with the condition, questioning why his presence at a party should attract criticism.
Beyond his health, Kosoko revealed that he had lost three wives, including the mother of his daughter, Bidemi Kosoko, who died during childbirth.
Reflecting on his career, the veteran actor said he began performing in theatre at the age of 10 in 1964 and established his own theatre group in 1972.
He also advised parents to treat their children equally and ensure that every child feels loved and valued.
